Module 1: Understanding the Impact of Trauma on Behavior & Learning
In this session, you will enhance your understanding of how trauma impacts the brain and body in both children and adults. Additionally, we will discuss self-management and self-care, as these are essential components of being a trauma-informed education professional. You will leave this session with essential understandings about how trauma impacts student behavior and student learning.
Module 2: Learning a Toolkit of Trauma-Informed Strategies
In this session, you will build upon your new understanding of trauma from Module 1, as we build a toolkit of strategies to support students who have experienced trauma. Our toolkit spans 4 distinct categories: Instructional Strategies, Executive Functioning Strategies, Emotion Regulation Strategies, and Relationship Strategies. You will leave this session armed with a ton of practical strategies that you can use immediately to support students.
