Description: Each of PD Monster’s four Paraprofessional Learning Series includes 8 online courses. Each course includes an instructional video, downloadable handouts, accompanying practice activities, and a course quiz that allows participants to demonstrate proficiency with the content and allows leaders to maintain accountability for the independent learning of their staff.

Audience: While these courses were developed using the national term, paraprofessional, the series is appropriate for any support staff member including classroom aides, lunch monitors, tutors, interventionists, behavior specialists, etc.

Time: The run time of each course’s instructional video ranges from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. With the accompanying practice activities and the course quiz, participants can expect to spend an additional hour or so working on each course. Therefore, each course will take approximately 2-3 hours to complete. The perfect activity for a scheduled PD day!

Implementation: These courses are intended to be self-paced, as each participant will have their own login and can take as much time as they’d like to complete the course within the 10-month subscription. Districts have flexibility to determine a plan that works best within their professional development system. For example, some districts may decide to assign specific modules on specific dates and have staff meet to discuss their learning whereas other districts may take advantage of a more self-paced schedule, having staff work independently though the modules.
