Description: In this session, you will learn how to design supports and structures for an effective in-district alternative learning program. We will start with foundational strategies such as defining your student population, designing an effective physical learning environment, and creating a strong program philosophy. We will then move on to more in-depth topics such as developing consistent entry and exit protocols, designing a feasible instructional model, and implementing effective data collection systems. You will leave this training armed with strategies for creating a new program or improving the structures of an existing program.

Dr. Mahri Wrightington is the founder and CEO of PD Monster. She earned an undergraduate degree in psychology at Bryn Mawr College and a doctorate in school psychology at the University of Connecticut. She holds current school certifications in school psychology and school administration. Having worked as a school psychologist, school administrator, and education consultant for the past 2 decades, Dr. Wrightington has a wealth of knowledge to share with participants. Dr. Wrightington is passionate about providing professional development that will have an immediate impact on the practices of the participants.
