Training Description: Student disengagement can present in many different ways, and effective support starts with understanding the “why” behind the behavior. In this session, participants will explore several common profiles of disengaged learners and learn practical, targeted strategies designed to match each student’s specific needs. Topics will include supporting distractible students through executive functioning strategies, addressing unmotivated behavior through mental health-informed approaches, and responding to oppositional behavior with practical behavior support strategies. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of disengagement and a toolbox of realistic approaches that can be applied immediately across a variety of student profiles and school settings.
