Cost: $999 per team.  This training is intended for school teams (6 members per team).

LUNCH IS INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE TRAINING.

Audience: This session is appropriate for a school team of 5-6 individuals who want to learn how to improve their school-wide systems of behavior support. Team makeup is up to the participating school, but will typically include an administrator, school psychologist and/or social worker, special education teacher, and general education teacher, in addition to any other key staff members.

Description: In this session, teams will learn how to use the principles of behavioral science to effectively and efficiently address challenging behaviors in the school environment. School teams will survey their current behavior support systems, identifying school-wide strengths and targeting areas for improvement across all tiers of support.  Participants will learn how to select, implement, and interpret measures that can be used for screening and progress monitoring. Emphasis will be placed on supporting students at the Tier III level of intervention. Teams will learn a functional 5-Step process for planning highly effective behavior support plans.

Follow-up on-site coaching will be offered to participating school teams at a discounted rate.

Presenters: Mahri Wrightington, Ph.D. & Susan Rattan, Ph.D.

Dr. Mahri Wrightington is the founder and CEO of PD Monster. She earned her doctorate in school psychology at the University of Connecticut and holds current CT school certifications in school psychology and school administration. Having worked as a school psychologist, school administrator, and education consultant for the past 15 years, Dr. Wrightington has a wealth of knowledge to share with participants. Her training style is humorous, engaging, and practical. Dr. Wrightington is passionate about providing professional development that will have an immediate impact on the practices of the participants.

Dr. Susan Rattan is an assistant professor of School Psychology. Her teaching and research interests include academic assessment, language development, vocabulary instruction in the early grades, learning disabilities, and multi-tiered systems of support. She has worked on several projects funded by the U.S. Department of Education, Institute of Education Sciences that have resulted in peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous national and international presentations.
