Audience: This live webinar is appropriate for any education professional who wants to learn more about the effects of trauma and specific ways to support students who have experienced trauma. All roles are welcome. It is suggested but not required that you attend Module 1 in this training series before attending Module 2.

Description: In this session, you will build upon your new understanding of trauma from Module 1. You will learn more specifics about how trauma impacts learning, memory, and other cognitive processes. Additionally, you will learn how to provide key instructional supports, supply students with executive functioning strategies, teach emotional regulation techniques, and learn several ways to strengthen your relationships with students who have experienced trauma.

Credentials: This program is credentialed by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval #886795044-1558) for 2 continuing education contact hours and by the New York State Education Department’s State Board for Social Work  (Approval #SW-0631) for 2 continuing education contact hours. Additionally, this program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (Approval #1155) for 2 CPD credit hours. Please note: you must attend the full live session to receive credit. 

Presenter: Mahri Wrightington, Ph.D.
Dr. Mahri Wrightington is the founder and CEO of PD Monster. She earned her undergraduate degree in psychology at Bryn Mawr College and her doctorate in school psychology at the University of Connecticut. She holds current school certifications in school psychology and school administration. Having worked as a school psychologist, school administrator, and education consultant for the past 2 decades, Dr. Wrightington has a wealth of knowledge to share with participants.
